Mabel MacDonald
MacDonald, Fern » Mabel », 84 of the R.K.
MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish formerly of Kenzieville and Marshy
Hope passed away November 16, 2018 in the
home.
Born in
Bon Accord, New Brunswick she was a daughter of the late Daniel Thomas
and and Bertha(Foster)Hamilton.
She was a
resident of Kenzieville since 1986 and Marshy Hope prior to that,
before moving to the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home in
Antigonish.
She was a
member of the Barney’s River Presbyterian Church and the
ladies Aid. She enjoyed card parties, church suppers, baking
and spending time with her family.
She is
survived by her sons: John(Charlene), Antigonish; Joe(Laura) and
Peter(Stacey) both of Kenzieville; grandchildren: Alexander, Bailey,
Ryan, Mary and Jesse(James), sisters: Nina King, NB; Rebecca Prosser,
NB; a brother: Earlin Hamilton, NB; numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was
predeceased by her husband Alexander Hugh MacDonald, a son Paul
Daniel, daughter-in-law Karen, granddaughter Shelby, brother-in-law
Harold MacDonald, sister-in-law Mildred Bannerman, brothers: Evard
Hamilton, a brother in infancy, sisters: Ruby Jinson, Edna Lint, Dolly
DeMarchant, Jeanette Etherington, Phyllis Clark and Isabelle
Jinson.
Her
remains will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for
visiting from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday. Funeral services will be
held 11am Tuesday from the Barney’s River Presbyterian
Church with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson presiding. Burial will
take place in the Kenzieville Cemetery. Family flowers
only. Donations in memory of Mabel may be made to the
Kenzieville Cemetery General Fund.
The
family would like to extend a thank you to all the Nurses, Doctors,
VON and Home Care that took care of Mom the past 9 years, and most
recently the staff at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home in
Antigonish. Special thanks to Delbert and Heather Warner who
kept watch of her home over the years.
