Lynn Beaton
December 26, 1924 – July 19, 2018
BEATON, Lynn (Sylvia Rose) 1924 – 2018
In her 94th year, Lynn grabbed her high heels in one hand and her Gin and Tonic in the other and took her final stroll along the beach to join her fly boy for their forever dance.
Predeceased by her husband of 52 yrs, Jack Beaton, (RAF, Squad 83 Pathfinders, WWII) and survived by her daughter, Linda Moss, granddaughter Sandy Moss (James O’Neill). Lynn will be forever remembered by many extended family and friends.
Special thanks to all those who have supported us over the last few days and visited Lynn while in hospital. Thanks to Dr. McDougall, RN’s Ian and Kyle at Hamilton General Hospital ER for their care of Lynn on Sunday and the Hamilton General 7S acute stroke team for their compassion and care.
Lynn was a war bride who came to Canada in 1946. She met Jack at a dance in 1943 during WWII and he knew right away that was the girl he was going to marry. After arriving in Canada Lynn lived in Montreal before moving to Ancaster in 1956. Lynn worked as a bookkeeper for Schriber Roofing for 30 yrs. She was active in Girl Guides and served as a Wentworth District School Board Trustee for several years. In her retirement, when not in her garden, Lynn was often out and about with Linda and Sharon (adopted daughter) for dinners, lunch with the Red Hats and Crown Jewels, shopping or going to the theatre. Lynn had a love of family, gin and tonic, chocolate, ice cream and basically all desserts.
Cremation has taken place and Lynn’s ashes will be stored on Linda’s fireplace next to Jack for the weekly dusting until we figure out where to put everybody for eternal sleep. Donations in Lynn’s memory can be made to the Hamilton Burlington SPCA or the Warplane Heritage Museum. Please join us in celebrating Lynn’s life on Wednesday, July 25th, 2018 at 2 pm at Lynn and Linda’s home in Dundas.
Dress code: ABSOLUTELY NO BLACK! High heels optional!
