It is with sadness the family of Lyle Herrington announces his passing after a long, hard fought, fight. He left us peacefully Wednesday April 11th, surrounded by family at home, as he wished.
Lyle is predeceased by his parents Leonard and Ella Herrington of Ontario, his mother-in-law Terry Shack of Smithers, and his brother, also of Ontario. Lyle leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Donna, and his three children; Calvin (April) of Houston, Leeann (Jeff) of Smithers and Dan (Alice) of Smithers. His pride and joy were his grandchildren; Joshua, Bryce and Nevaeh.
Lyle was born in Ontario in 1949. He moved from there to Vancouver Island to pursue his dream of being a heavy equipment mechanic and once he was certified, he made his way to the Bulkley Valley where he would settle and raise his family. He was a talented mechanic known for his skill and knowledge in fixing all means of equipment from skidders to tractors and everything in between. He could be found tinkering and fixing all through the Valley until his retirement 2 years ago.
“Goodbyes are not forever,
Are not the end;
It simply means
I’ll miss you until we meet again”
There will be a Memorial Tea held on Friday, May 18th in the Paul Lychak Hall in Evelyn. No flowers please, however donations to the Northwest Animal Shelter would be a kindness appreciated by the family.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Lyle Boyd Herrington November 4 1949 April 11 2018 (age 68).source
