Passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at St. Mary’s General Hospital at the age of 19.
Beloved son of Verge and Aida Oliveira.
Loving brother of Alexandra.
Cherished grandson of Jose and Maria Azevedo, Maria and the late Antonio Oliveira.
Will be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Luke always walked into any room with a huge smile on his face. He would greet everyone with such enthusiasm, that was so contagious. He was loving, caring, funny, ambitious, curious and very intelligent. He would talk about anything with such passion, he was truly one of a kind. He is a bright star in everyone’s life. Christmas was Luke’s favourite time of year, it is so fitting that we will continue to celebrate his life every year at this time. He was our superhero and will live on in others through his organ donation.
Luke’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home, at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Daniel R.C. Church, 29 Midland Dr., Kitchener, Ontario, N2A 2A9 on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Parish Life Centre.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
