Luigi « Lou » Battochio
The family announces with sorrow his sudden passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the age of 91.
Beloved husband of Cecile (nee Souliere).
Loving father of Dino (Adrienne) of Brookfield, Connecticut and Bruno of Schumacher.
Loving grandfather of Brock, Brennan and Blair.
Dear brother of Walter “Doc” (Linda) of Brantford and Santo (late Suzanne) of Edmonton.
Dear uncle of Andrea (Mark), Mark, Martin, Chris (Angie), Raymond (Lori) and Walter.
Lou was well known in the community for his involvement with sports, politics and education.
He was a founding member of Schumacher Minor Hockey, he was a municipal councilor for 25 years, he was the Physical Education Director for the Timmins Board of Education for all of the area schools, he was a Director on the Board for Camp Bickell and an Inductee to the Timmins Sports Hall of Fame.
A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 2 pm.
Interment will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friend on Tuesday, November 6 from 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm and on Wednesday, November 7 from 10 am-1:30 pm at
