KECA, Lucia “Lucy” – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lucy Keca announces her peaceful passing on August 13, 2018 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 56. Devoted best friend, soul mate and loving wife to Joe. Cherished and loving mother of Maria (Dominic) Keca-Reid and Joseph. Forever in the hearts of her adored grandchildren Lucas and Liam Reid. Lucy will be lovingly remembered by her father Michele DiVarano, her mother in-law Blanca Keca, her sister Diane (Gino) Villella and her nephews Michael and Nicholas. Lucy is predeceased by her mother Elsa DiVarano and her father in-law John Keca. She will also be missed by many friends, cousins and extended family. Lucy never hesitated to put others before herself, she brightened a room like no one else and always ensured that others were taken care of. Lucy made the world a better place. The family will receive relatives and friends at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville Hwy, Thorold) on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A Liturgy of the Word outside Mass will take place on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Private family entombment to follow. Memorial donations in Lucy’s memory may be made to the Sarcoma Research Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff of the Princess Margaret and Mount Sinai Hospitals for their outstanding and compassionate service.
