OBITUARY
LUCIA CALABRETTI
October 10, 1940 – August 5, 2018
Lucia Calabretti (Sisto) was born on October 10, 1940 in Montalbano di Fasano, Italy. She passed away on, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving family.
Lucia was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, cook, gardener and friend. She was selfless and constantly providing care and support to her family and friends. She also loved spending time with her furry companion, Leo.
Lucia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Beniamino. She is survived by her two sons, Marti (Isabella), and Roberto (Vivian); daughter, Tina (Franco); and sister, Maria. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Kristian, Mikayla, Alexa and Noella. She has many extended family members in Italy who have been an important part of her life.
Lucia will be remembered for being a beautiful and loving woman. She left her mark on everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. Her memories will be cherished always. Despite her health challenges, she fought her battle with lymphoma with dignity and grace and ultimately succumbed to her failing health.
Her family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Lynda Foltz, the Providence Hematology team, and the nursing staff at St. Paul’s hospital. Their support and care of Lucia over the last five months will be remembered.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or the BC Cancer Society.
Funeral mass to take place Tuesday August 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish with Father Nelson Santos officiating. Entombment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby.
