In Loving Memory of Louis Prevost
Lewis H. Prevost, husband of Lorraine Godin Prevost, residing in Monarch Hall in Riverview. Louis was born May 29th, 1918. At Saint Madeline D’Outremont in Montreal, Quebec. He is the oldest of six boys born to Hectare Prevost and Gabrielle La Marsh Prevost.
In addition to his spouse, he is survived buy one brother, Guy, of Montreal, Quebec. His Early Education was in a private school, then at college Saint Lauren in Montreal, where he complete his secondary education and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts, he continued his education and spent four years studying theology. He became a member of the Holy Cross fathers in Montreal and was ordained priest in 1944. In 1945, he came to New Brunswick to teach at College St Joseph do memramcook New Brunswick, where he taught French Latin and Greek. He spent summer sessions at Laval University to qualify in French literature, later, he attended Notre Dame University in South Bend, USA, to continue his studies in theology. He also attended Indiana University, Indiana, USA and received a license in amateur radio and was a member for many years. In 1976 he obtained a bachelor in education from Moncton University. His greatest satisfaction was to teach the youth, he understood them. In 1972, he came to Bathurst, New Brunswick to teach in a public school and remained in that position until his retirement in 1984. On a personal level, Lewis enjoyed Sports, especially baseball and hockey. He loved teaching, singing and music. He was always a member of a choir. He was a man of great faith. He loved life. He lived a life rich in personal contact. He was loved by everyone for his generosity, his authenticity and his discretion. A mass will be celebrated at the Église paroissiale catholique Saint-Anselme Church on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
