With heavy hearts, the family of Louis St. Onge announces his passing, which occurred at the Halifax Infirmary on November 22nd, 2018. Louis was born in Edmundston on December 15, 1929; one of 13 children born to Wilfred and Marie Anne (Couturier) St. Onge, and the loving husband of Dorianne (Nadeau) St. Onge. Louis started his career with several trucking companies, and later worked for Irving Equipment as an Equipment Operator, until a workplace injury forced him to retire in his 40’s. He was a hard working and simple man, who adored his wife, and loved his daughters dearly. Louis loved the outdoors, and could always be found tinkering in his work shed. He simply loved his little home in Willow Grove, and was devastated when he had to move to Nova Scotia when his health no longer allowed him to stay at home. Along with his wife Dorianne, Louis is survived by his daughters Joanne Hatfield (Larry), Rose Johnson (Dave) and Colette Silcox (Dennis), brother Robert (the late Norma), sister Gaetane MacLeod (Melvin), as well as grandchildren Denise, Marc, Rhonda, and Brandon. In addition to his parents, Louis was pre-deceased by his daughter Anne Marie, and 10 siblings. In keeping with Louis’ wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424).
