Obituary for Loring Owen Pulsifer
August 19, 2018, Loring passed peacefully with his family at this side at the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington. Loring will be missed dearly by his loving and dedicated wife of 73 years, Donna Pulsifer (née Robinson). Predeceased by daughter Brenda Gail Firth (d. 1996). Survived by daughter June Oliver (Michael Gilhespy), grandchildren Lorne Oliver (Su Hahn), Daryl Oliver (Andrew Parr), Breanne Firth (Curt Snoddon), Darren Firth (Samantha Web) and great grandchildren Grant & Martin Firth. Also survived by his brother Cecil Pulsifer of Wolfville, NS, and sister-in-law Annetta (Nan) Robinson of Petitcodiac, NB, as well as many extended family members & friends.
Born and raised in Wolfville, NS, Loring graduated from Acadia University with a Science degree and went on to Nova Scotia Tech (now part of Dalhousie University) for an Engineering degree. After a long and successful career with Westinghouse, Loring enjoyed spending his retirement years gardening, taking scenic drives with his wife, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to the nursing staff of Joseph Brant Hospital (6s100) for their compassion and care during his final days.
Loring’s cremation has been arranged through Circle of Life in Dundas. As per Loring’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. The family is grateful for condolences; however, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memoriam to the Lancaster Support Club of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (Hamilton), to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
