Beattie, Lori Anne – 55, beloved wife and best friend of Bruce Beattie, Oxford, passed away suddenly on May 7 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Formerly of Oxford Junction, she was a daughter of Bruce and Marg Moss of Oxford Junction. Also mourning their loss are daughters, Brittany (Joey David), Dieppe, NB; Nicole (Cody) Hunter, Springhill; brother, Randy (Sandy) Moss, Fall River; step-sons, Ryan Beattie, Moncton; Kent and Joel Beattie, both of Amherst; grandsons, Holden David and Theodore Hunter; granddaughter, Noel Beattie, Amherst. She was predeceased by brother, Bobby; sister, Gail in infancy. Lori excelled in her studies at O.R.H.S. graduating with honours. She was a participant in basketball and track, and a talented majorette in her junior years. She went on to gain a certificate in data processing. Her quick wit and “sense of the ridiculous” won her many friends among her peers which carried on through her adult years. She loved to read any book that fell into her hands, unless it was written in the first person; and the radio was seldom off in her house. But her real passion was “the beach”, the last flake of winter snow was scarcely gone before she began to fill her conversations with “the beach” or the cottage. Lori loved the ocean and loved walking the sands or sitting by the fire listening to music with her “beach bum” hubby, Bruce. There will be a visitation to celebrate Lori’s life Thursday, May 10 from 6-9 pm in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902-447-2930).
