Locksley (Lucky) Benjamin Zelmer
1943-2018
On the 14th of June, 2018 Lucky passed away at home with his immediate family at his side.
He lived on his beautiful acreage in the RM of St. Andrews for over 40 years where he enjoyed farming, gardening and nature. Lucky had a talent for tinkering and being able to fix almost anything. These self acquired skills served him well in careers over the years at the Winnipeg Airport, mixed farming at home, owning his own business and most recently over 25 years at Larter’s Golf Club.
Lucky was born to Benjamin and Elsie (nee Mohr) in the hamlet of Ewart near Reston, MB. As a young boy the family moved to the Shevlin area near Roblin where he grew up and received his schooling. Lucky eventually made his way to Winnipeg where he met his loving wife Lorraine (nee Kachor) to whom he was married to for over 50 years. In addition to Lorraine, Lucky is survived by his sons Brent (Nancy) and Bryan (Sharla), grandchildren Ryleigh, Braeden and Kieryn, brothers Ray and Reg and sisters Marlene, Leona, Barb and all of their extended families.
Lucky was predeceased by his parents and his youngest son Devon.
Thank you to staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Stonewall Hospital with special thanks to RN Danielle and Palliative RNs Melanie and Lindsay.
