Lloyd Weston Charlong
1932-2018
It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Lloyd
Weston Charlong at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on October
29th, 2018, after a battle with cancer at the
age of 86. Born in Campbellton on August
24th, 1932. Son of Susan (Chedore) Charlong and
Vincent Charlong. Loving husband of Gabrielle (Valois)
Charlong.
Besides his loving wife Gabrielle, he will be sadly missed by
his 4 daughters: Debbie Johnson (David) of Campbellton, Janet Del
Guidice (John) of Thornhill, Ont., Kim (Stan) of St. Thomas Ont. and
Kilby (Audie) of Campbellton; his 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Erin,
Doug, Amy, Stephanie, Alex, Evan, Chase, Nolan, Gabriella
(Ella), Cole, Taylor and 9 great grandchildren. His sister
Mary and brother Currie along with many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers: Roland, Haswell,
Earl and Ralph and sisters Margaret Woodman and Thelma
Coutange.
Lloyd was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved and took
pride in being a fishing guide. He was a wonderful story teller and a
prankster extraordinaire. He shared much of his knowledge with his
family and grandchildren. We love you so much Daddy, you will be
greatly missed. Do not worry about mom, she will be surrounded by your
love and by our arms.
There will be a gathering at Savoie’s Funeral Home
on Saturday November 3rd at 10 am. A
Legion service will be held at 11 am at the funeral home followed
immediately by reception which will be held at the Village Nursing
Home until 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Tree of Hope
Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
At this time the family would like to say Special Thanks to
the exceptional care that was received while he was on the Palliative
Unit. An extra special thanks to our little nurse, his granddaughter
Erin. Heartfelt thanks to the special friends who
took the time to brighten his days, bring in special treats &
who supported and helped us and dad through this journey.
