Lloyd Marcel Newcombe
Lloyd Marcel Newcombe Age 78 of Herring Cove. It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Father, Husband, Brother and Grandfather on October 17th 2018. Born in Tangier, Halifax County he was the son of the late Ray and Eva Marguerite(Hutt) Newcombe. For many years Lloyd worked for Canada Packers as a truck driver where he made some very good friends along his route. Lloyd then went on to work for NS Power until retirement where he was a member of the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers Local # 1928. Lloyd was an avid gardner who loved his flower beds, vegetable garden and always gave them lots of TLC. Some of Lloyd’s hobbies included hunting as well as honey bee farming. He was a proud member of the Halifax Honey Bee Society. Lloyd also loved the game of hockey and was his grandsons biggest fan. Lloyd was a family man, everyone’s go to and always there to offer advice or a helping hand. Family ment everything to Lloyd along with his dog, Daisie. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 51 years, the love of his life and bestfriend Margie (Stone) his son Mark(Stephanie) of Sambro and Bernie(Joy) of Herring cove. His beloved grandchildren; Jessica who is his eldest grandchild and share a very speical bond, Jacob who is his little helper, James and Caitlin who are his troopers and are dear to his heart, Maddison and Lindsay, his blonde beauties and the apple’s of his eye. Aswell as sisters Gladys Newcombe of Spryfield and Verna Bojarha of Enderby B.C..Lloyd is predeceased by his son Shawn and Brother Dale, Brother in law Karl Bojarha and Mother in-law Catherine Stone. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will take place Monday, October 22nd at 11am in Atlantic Funeral Home 6552 Bayers Rd. Halifax.
