Obituary for Ljubica Lily Resetar (Petras)
In Loving Memory
of
Ljubica “Lily” Resetar (nee Petras)
who passed away peacefully at 97 years of age on Monday, March 26th, 2018 with her family by her side. Lily was married to Frank Resetar, predeceased and they are now together again after 50 years of being apart. The daughter of John Petras and Helen Mikolin, both predeceased and step-daughter to Draga Petras, predeceased. Proud and loving mother to Frank Resetar (Vera), Nick Resetar (Helen) and Caroline Jokinen. The world’s best grandmother to her 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Loving sister to Blaz Petras, Zvonko Petras and Barbara Krizanic all predeceased. Lily will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Croatia, Lily moved to Canada when she was 13 years old. She met the love of her life Frank and settled in Creighton Mine to raise her family. She worked as a custodian for the Sudbury School Board for 19 years and retired in 1985. The love she had for her family spread through generations, influencing everyone who was lucky enough to call her Baba. She loved to cook, especially for her family. Her strudel, pancakes and cabbage rolls were a staple during family get-togethers. Our family would like to send our sincerest appreciation to the care staff at Pioneer Manor who were so welcoming, kind, caring and compassionate to not only Lily but to our entire family for the 6 years that she lived there.
“Close to our hearts she will stay, loved and remembered every day.”
