Lionel Earl McCormick
McCormick, Lionel Earl – age 75 of Lake Echo. Passed away on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital. Born In Bear River, Digby County, he was the son of the late Earl and Edna (Coombs) McCormick. Lionel worked at Canada Post as a letter carrier for 32 years. He loved all sports, especially baseball and hockey. Lionel was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Halifax Mooseheads. He was a member of the Cole Harbour Lions Club and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #161, Gaetz Brook. Lionel is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lucie (Cormier); sons, Leigh, Lake Echo, Desi (Jessica), Cold Lake Alberta; sisters, Myrtle Selig, Clementsport, Audrey McMahon, Belleville Ontario, Lynn (Otis) Gregory, Parkers Cove, NS; grandchildren, Dakota, Hayley, Ashton, Noah, Lucas, Ethan and Caroline and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, daughter in law, Rosemary; sister, Marie Darris; brother in laws, Carl Darris, Russell Selig and Ron McMahon. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday, May 4th in Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday May 5th in St. Anne’s Church, Lake Echo, Father Gregory officiating. Interment at a later date in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
