Linda L. Pickering
1946-2018
Linda Louise Pickering passed away peacefully surrounded by

Quispamsis. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late John
C. and Mildred (Sweet) Ashe.
Linda is survived by her children; Jennifer Colford-Dallaire
(Joanne) of Royal Road, NB, Kimberly Ross (Tony) of Kingston, NB and
Ronald Robinson (Pamela) of Kingston, NB, brothers; Clifford (Skip)
Ashe (Kathy) of Kingston, NB, Randy Ashe (Brenda) of Quispamsis, NB,
Tim Ashe (Colleen) of Kingston, NB, sisters; Bonnie Jenkins of
Kingston, NB, Robin Best of Kingston and Candice Ashe-MacDonald (Al)
of Kingston, NB, 9 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren.
Linda was predeceased by her 1st
husband; Ronald J. Robinson and her 2nd
husband; Wendell F. Pickering, also 2 brothers-in-law; Donald Jenkins
and Jimmy Best, 1 niece; Lindsay Ashe and a great niece; Frankie
Edwards.
Linda Louise was born in 1946 to Millie and Clifford Ashe at
the Evangeline Maternity Hospital in Saint John.
Throughout her school years, she was constantly involved with
sports teams and youth groups. She graduated from Saint
John’s Vocational School in 1964, with a certificate in Home
Economics, specializing in Hair Dressing. Later on, she ran her own
hair salon in her home, called the Hill Top Hair Salon.
In 1965 at the tender age of 19, Linda married Ronald
Robinson, (1942-1993) at the Trinity Anglican Church in
Kingston. According to her diary of the day, this was the
happiest time of her life. As a widow years later, in 1998
she was wed to Wendell Pickering (1942-2016) in their home on Pickett
Lake.
Linda drove school bus for School District 19, and safely
brought many local children to and from home for 27 years.
Music was very important to Linda, and was a constant in her
home. Linda loved to dance, and she especially enjoyed
square dancing with the Hampton Hoe Downers Club along with Millie and
Cliff. Linda enjoyed the outdoors all of her life.
Camping, fishing and hunting all came natural to her. She
also had an infatuation with elephants that seemed to infect her
entire family.
Linda’s children Jennifer, Kimberly and Ronald,
meant more than the world to her. And her grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan,
Kristina, Rick, Alec, Matthew, Samantha, Josie and Mackenzie were the
light of her world. Linda also had three great-grandchildren, Melody,
Klarity-Rose and Léo-Zavier that sadly she didn’t
get to enjoy the way she should have due to the Alzheimer’s
that dominated the last ten years of her life.
Linda’s family extend a heartfelt thank you to the
staff at The Shannex’s Embassy Hall in Quispamsis, which was
her home for the last 8 years, for all their love and support during
this very difficult time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral
Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation
will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 6 to 8pm and Monday
November 19, 2018 2-4 & 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be
held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 3:30 pm from Trinity Anglican
Church, Kingston, NB. Interment will take place in the Trinity
Anglican Cemetery, Kingston, NB.
