Obituary Overview
Leroy McBrien
MCBRIEN, Leroy George
Peacefully died surrounded by family at his home on
Monday, July 30, 2018, in his 86th year. Son of the late Lillian and Clarence
McBrien. Loving husband and friend of Caroline McBrien. Father of Robert
(Ginette) of Calgary, Heather of Ottawa and Bruce (Christine) of Setauket, New
York. Cherished grandfather of Alex, Sean (Rielle), Caroline, Grace and Emma.
Predeceased by his sister George Anne Martin, née McBrien.
Lee’s successful career with Mead Johnson /
Bristol-Myers Squibb took him around the world. He returned to his hometown of
Belleville to live out his retirement. Lee loved the outdoors and enjoyed
annual canoe trips to his beloved Quetico Provincial Park. An avid sportsman,
he enjoyed boating and fishing, playing hockey, tennis, golf, and curling.
Humble in life, Lee would have wanted a memorial
without fanfare. In honoring his wishes, his family invites friends to drop in
on Saturday, August 4th, between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. at BURKE FUNERAL HOME, 150
Church Street, Belleville (613-968-6968) for a casual gathering to remember
Lee. Condolences can be made online at www.burkefuneral.ca . Donations to the Alzheimer Society, the
Quinte Humane Society, or charity of choice would be appreciated.
