Wilson, Leonard G. – 75, Port Howe, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Springhill he was a son of the late Kenneth and Mary “Molly” (Lewis) Wilson. Leonard was an avid golfer having been a founding member and later honorary member of the Springhill Golf Club. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting or spending time at his camp and was an avid gardener whom loved to show off his flower arrangements. Leonard could also often be found organizing shuffle board games and tournaments. Above all Leonard was a family man who was so very proud of all his children and their accomplishments. Over the years Leonard held many jobs including, Jack Fraser, Casavechia Construction and Oxford Esso. He also owned and operated Wilson’s Menswear in Dartmouth and Sussex, NB, as well a proprietor with his wife Sandra of Wilson’s Variety, Springhill. Leonard retired after working at Fox Harb’r Resort, which he said was the best job he ever had. He is survived by his wife the former Sandra Fraser; sons, Mark (Flo), Amherst; Michael, Bridgewater; grandsons, Corey (Gillian), Ben (Kirsten) and Alexander Wilson; sister, Carol (John) McLeod, Okotoks, AB; Aunt, Ivy Tabor, Riverview, NB; several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, February 8 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902-447-2930).
