Lenoir Koch
Lenoir Koch passed away on January 19, 2018 at 84 years of age.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: George Koch, Jerry (Karen) Koch, Kevin (Shelley) Koch, Karen (Rick) MacDermott, and Norine Koch; grandchildren: Ryan, Kelcey, Leanne, Kyle (Kelsey), Brayden, Brett, Cory (Alyson), and Robyn; and great grandchild, Nixon, among other family and friends. Predeceased by her mom, dad, and brother, Alva.
Lenoir raised 5 children while being very involved with the Church, a Life Member of the “Women of the Moose”, a Girl Guide Commissioner, founding the Chiropractic Auxiliary, being a member of the Alberta Health Food Board, and a representative for the Canadian Health Food Association as well as volunteering with many other organizations including Brownies, Robin Hood School, and many more. Remembered as being the “Grande Dame” of the health food industry through ABC Health Shoppe and related businesses. She was proud of the 540 Afghans she crafted in her retirement years and enjoyed her time spent with the Sherwood Park 55+ Club. Potlucks and games with long-time friends were special to her. She also enjoyed Stage West season tickets for over 30 years, curling in her younger years, league bowling, and travel. Her hearty laugh and engaging smile will be remembered by many.
A special thank you from the family for the excellent care our mother received from all staff at the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre, the Grey Nuns, and U of A Renal units.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Glory Lutheran Church, 22577 Highway 16, Sherwood Park, AB, T8A 4T7.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lenoir may be made to Glory Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice.
