Lenlie Keith Harris 2018

Lenlie Keith Harris
March 26, 1955 – June 17, 2018

It is with great sorrow that we announce that Lenlie Keith Harris, age 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Wolfville on March 26th, 1955, he was a son of Madeline May (McInnis) Harris and the late Carl Maxwell Harris. He attended Nictaux Elementary and West Kings High School. After graduation he went to work for Eastern Bakeries for a period of time and then went on to Farmer’s Dairy for a number of years, eventually becoming an owner/operator. In 1998 he began working for Larsen Meat Packers until their closing in 2010. He decided to go back to school in 2014 to take business administration with a concentration in accounting. He graduated in June of 2016 with the intention of becoming an accountant at a local business firm, but this was sadly cut short due to his cancer diagnosis in August 2016. Lenlie enjoyed many forms of sports, from coaching junior baseball to participating in the local bowling leagues, and playing hockey and baseball on local teams. He was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed a good joke at the expense of his favorite team, often remarking that his wish was to live long enough to see the Leafs win the Stanley Cup. He had a tremendous sense of humour, and strove to entertain everyone he met with his mastery of ‘dad jokes’.
An avid rock and roll fan, he was blessed to have the opportunity to see his favorite band, Metallica in person, which was a dream come true for him. He enjoyed camping and every summer looked forward to exploring new places in Nova Scotia. Friends, family and people he didn’t even know could always count on his overwhelming kindness. He would often stop and lend a hand to anyone who needed it, never asking for anything in return. Lenlie was a strong family man who loved his children and took great pride in telling people about his 7 sons and 12 grandchildren.
He is survived by his heart broken wife Lynda Christine Harris (nee Leddicote), his seven sons, Jason, Justin (Fiancee Allison Smith), Jarrod (wife Alli Harris nee Curtis), Jonathon (wife Misty-Dawn Harris nee Corkum), Joel (husband Trevor Amiro), Jeremy (fiancee Bethany Pineo) and Jesse (wife Alana Harris nee Mattinson) and twelve grandchildren, Laila, Olivia, Alyssa, Logan, Koby, Abigail, Olivia, Mason, Autumn, Hunter, Austin, and Zelda. He leaves behind his brothers Carl Junior and Greg; his sister Barb and numerous other family members. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother Michael. Finally, he also leaves behind his beloved dog Tessa, who will sorely miss him. Family, friends and any others whose lives Lenlie touched are invited to a Service of Remembrance at 3:00 pm, Friday, June 22nd in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448 with Rev. Quincy Collins officiating. Private interment will be in Tremont Cemetery. Donations in memory of
