KLIMEK – Mrs. Lena (Kasko) Klimek, age 98, passed away peacefully at The Good Shepherd Villas on January 31, 2018.
The late Mrs. Klimek is survived by her loving family: three sons and one daughter, Merril, Garry (Blanche), Gordon (Bonnie), and Sharon (Ron) Misseghers; son-in-law, Fred Wawro; daughter-in-law, Camille Klimek; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Kasko and Louise Kasko. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam; two sons and one daughter, Bud, Calvin and Delphine Wawro; one infant grandson, Shilo Klimek; her parents, John and Mary Kasko; and her siblings, Vic (Ann) Cassidy, Elsie (Edmond) Desormeau, Gladys (Morrison) McBeath, Phyllis (John) Wozniczki, Walter (Susan) Kasko, Stanley Kasko, Louise (Seymour ) Shein, and Frank Kasko.
Mom was born November 14, 1919 in Claytonville, SK. In 1928, the Kasko family moved to the Fir Ridge District where Mom met Dad. They were married on October 27, 1935. Mom was always a wonderful cook and baker. At the age of seventeen, with no modern conveniences, she cooked for a road crew of twenty-four men. Fifteen years later she cooked for a power crew of thirty. Along with family, there were most often forty-two sitting at the table. Mom always had a green thumb, growing a large garden and beautiful flowers. Mom’s family and friends will remember her for her great sense of humour and hearty laugh.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Father Tuyen Vu. Interment to follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Lena’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
