Lawrence « Larry » William Smith
Sadly, the family announces the passing of a dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, companion and friend. Larry Smith, 75 years old, on May 5, 2018, in Tiverton, Ontario.
Proud dad of daughters, Kelly Lynn (Carlos) Ponce & Kerry Simpson. Adoring grandpa of Jamie & Dominic William. Sadly missed by his sisters, Sheila (Art) Marsh, Jean (Ian) McBean, Dorothy (Wayne) Birmingham, Eddi-Jo (Bill) Corbet. Brothers Dave (Margie) and Kevin Smith. Sister-in-law, Rose Smith. Loving companion, Carol Danac and his former wife and friend, Linda Smith. Many nieces, nephews and cousins both in Canada and the United States are saddened by his loss. Predeceased by his parents, Milton and Thirza, brother Steve, niece Sherri, nephew Jon and great nephew Nate.
Larry was an avid sports fan, especially curling, golf, hockey and baseball. He was very much the « arm chair quarterback ». He eagerly awaited the latest videos of his grandkids, phone calls and visits from his daughters, sisters and brothers. Raised on the 8th Line of Moore, the second of 8 children and a resident of Sarnia until 1983 when he moved to Hamilton where he was the proud owner of a home renovation company for many years until his retirement to Kincardine.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service and memorial will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the amazing health care providers both at home and at Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton, especially his PSWs Marge and Sue and all the homecare nurses. Donations to the Huron Shores Hospice -PO Box 242, Tiverton, On.-NOG 2T0 would be gratefully appreciated. They are heroes.
