With great sadness the family of Lawrence Nixon announce his passing, which occurred peacefully on October 13, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Lawrence was one of two children of Leona Nixon and the late Ronald Nixon of Rothesay NB. Lawrence was well known in his community for his love of sports, music, family and his fellow worshipers at Forest Hills Baptist Church. Lawrence will be missed by his wife Debby Nixon; son, Joseph Nixon (Lynda); grandchildren, Jack and Aiden Nixon; mother, Leona Nixon; niece, Robin Lefevre (Sam) and aunt, Yvette Brawn (Bob) along with many other friends and family members who loved him dearly. Lawrence was predeceased by his father Ronald Nixon; aunt, Edwina Connors and Sister Ruth Nixon. Lawrence’s family would like to extend thanks to the staff and doctors of the Oncology Department, the Extra Mural Program, and the Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). The family will receive friends at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 36 Mountain Road on Saturday, October 20th from 10:30-12:30, with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. For those who wish, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
