Obituary for
Lawrence Chrun
Lawrence John Chrun, aged 72, passed away suddenly August 9, 2018, surrounded by his family. Lawrence was born August 16, 1945, and raised in Cudworth where he spent the majority of his life on the family farm until retiring and moving to Humboldt in 2016. He was a founding member of the Golden Arrow Archery Club in Cudworth, and travelled to compete in many archery tournaments. Lawrence had a great love of the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julie (Gryba), his daughter Zenia (Owen) Wisner and granddaughters Natalia and Karina of Saskatoon, his son Michael (Melanie) Chrun and granddaughters Mary and Mia of Medicine Hat, his son Ken (Andrea) Chrun of Saskatoon, his sister Pat Lendzyk of Saskatoon, his in-laws: Renate Gryba, Eugene (Mila) Gryba, Natalie Trebick (Peter Wiwchar), Mary (Bert) Jenner and Angie Saseniuk (Henry Rasmussen); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Dorothy (Kindrachuk) Chrun, his infant sister, and brothers-in-law: Peter Lendzyk, Nestor Gryba, Martin Gryba, and Dave Trebick. The Divine Liturgy was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday August 14th, 2018 at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cudworth with Rev. Fr. Ivan Nahachewsky officiating. Interment of the Urn will take place at a later date in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lawrence may be directed to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation or Stars Air Ambulance. Lawrence’s family wish to extend their deepest gratitude to the Humboldt paramedics, STARS Air Ambulance crew, and CCU staff at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, for their extraordinary care and compassion during Lawrence’s final hours.
