It is with heavy hearts that the family of Laura Susanne King (nee Priddle) wish to announce her sudden passing.
Laura, the youngest of five children, was born on November 2, 1962 in Port-aux-Basques, NFLD to the late Evelyn and Reuben Priddle.
Aside from her parents, Laura was predeceased by her father-in-law, Louis King Sr., and her nephew, Michael Priddle.
Laura and the absolute love of her life, Louis, were married for 32 beautiful years, and made Eastern Passage their home, raising their daughter Lynnette (Richard) of Edmonton, AB and son, Louis (Elf) of Halifax, NS. Laura lived every day for the light of her life – her little grandson, Derek.
Laura is survived by her brothers: Simeon (Linda) of Sydney, NS; Reuben (Beatrice) of Winnipeg, MB; and Matt (Sadie) of Pasadena, NFLD; as well as her sister, Geraldine (Austin Pomeroy) of Clarenville, NFLD. She is also survived by her 7 nieces and nephews, as well as her best friend Mary Carmichael (Sandy) of Eastern Passage, NS.
Laura was one of the most genuine, kind, and giving people you’d ever meet. Her family was her top priority, and she lived every day to make sure they were cared for, loved, and happy. She took so much pride in her career of 14 years as a general manager at Tim Horton’s, where she will be missed dearly by many colleagues and customers alike. Laura spent her free time playing bingo, walking her beloved dog, Scamper, knitting, and visiting her little Der-Bear in Edmonton at every opportunity.
Visitation will be 2:00 -4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday in Eastern Passage Community Funeral Home, 5 Cow Bay Road, Eastern Passage. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Passage.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Laura may be made to the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation.
Laura was a beautiful, irreplaceable person whose full heart and love for everyone in her life will never be forgotten. She will live on in the lives of the many recipients of her organ donation. We extend our greatest thanks to the staff of the QEII hospital ICU for making our mom’s final moments as comforting as possible.
