1917-2018
MacLeod, Laura Carmelina « Carmie » – Age 90 years of
Port Hawkesbury. We regret to announce the passing of our
beloved mother, surrounded by her family in the Port Hawkesbury
Nursing Home on Sunday, March 18, 2018.
Carmie was born in Evanston, Richmond Co.; she was a daughter
of the late Gordon and Annie (Cogswell) MacNamara. She is survived by
her daughter, Beverly, Port Hawkesbury; sons, John (Geraldine),
Sheldon (Joann), all of Evanston; grandchildren, Tracy, Tiffany,
Nikki, Tianna, Daniel, Mark, Jillian, Shelby.; sister, Muriel (Gordie)
Wilkie, North Sydney; several great grand-children , nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Dan MacLeod; sister,
Blanche; brothers, Joe, Vincent, Valentine.
Visitation will be from 2- 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. St.
Francis de Sales CWL are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 3 p.m.
for prayers. A Funeral mass will be held
11 a.m. Wednesday, March 21 from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic
Church, Lower River Inhabitants with Father Joe MacKenzie officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Parish Cemetery,
Whiteside. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Carmie to the
St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fund, Whiteside.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff
at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for the excellent care given to
