Sadly, we announce the peaceful passing of John James (Jack or JJ) Kylie on the morning of April 26, 2018 in Madawaska Valley Hospice in Barry’s Bay. Born December 10, 1939, at home, on the White Lake Road in Furnace Falls, Jack was a long-time resident of Whitney. He was a full-time employee of MNR for over thirty years prior to his retirement. At home in the woods and an avid sportsman and hunter, he was seldom without venison, trout or moose meat in his freeze. Fresh vegetables from his large, well-kept and bountiful garden augmented his meat supply. His lifelong love of music led to the appellation « Happy Jack », later shortened to Jack. Jack was predeceased by his first wife Dolores (nee Johnson) as well as his second wife Marcia (formerly Jermol). Lovingly remembered by his sisters Josephine and Mary, as well as his brothers Hugh, Gary and Gerald and the late Edward, together with their spouses and a large number of nieces and nephews, as well as their children. He will always be remembered by his strep children Tonya Jermol and Eddy Jermol as well as Eddy’s children. Thanks go out to Jack’s family, support staff, volunteers, nurses and particularly Dr. Cybulski at the hospice who made Jack’s final days as comfortable as possible. If desired memorial donations may be made to Madawaska Valley Hospice or St Anthony’s Church, Whitney or other charities of your choice. These will be much appreciated by Jack’s family. Jack lived life on his own terms and remained in charge of his life to the very end. He carried his good humour and wit with him as he went. According to Jack’s wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a date to be announced. (Cards available at the funeral home (613) 338-3259 or e-mail condolences to
