It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Jean Kokelaere (née Crammond). Ruth slipped away peacefully on July 16th 2018 at the West Island Palliative Care Residence in Pointe-Claire, knowing she was loved and cherished.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated son Andrew (Jocelyn Lefebvre), and her beloved grandchildren, Austin and Holly. She was predeceased by her brother John and leaves to mourn his children, nephew David Crammond (Gillian) and niece Ruth Crammond (Brad) who were very dear to her, as well as other treasured friends and family members.
Ruth was born in Montreal on April 10th 1940, and later went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Education from McGill University. She then made it her life’s work to teach Special Education at the PSBGM, where she inspired young minds for 37 years before retiring. Ruth loved vacationing in Prince Edward Island where she created memories that lasted a lifetime. She adored her grandchildren, and her spirit of generosity and kindness will live on through them.
As per Ruth’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 28th at 2 p.m. at Cedar Park United Church on Lakeview Avenue in Pointe-Claire. A small reception will follow. Those wishing to make a donation in Ruth’s memory may do so to the West Island Palliative Care Residence.
