Obituary of Kevin Farr
FARR, Kevin C – passed away peacefully after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 52 years.
Kevin Farr of Pembroke, dearly loved husband of Debbie Farr (nee Schwan). Devoted father of Allison & Brett Farr, Pembroke. Son of the late Cyril & Beverley Farr (nee Prescott). Cherished brother of Laurie Wheeler (Stan), London. Son-in-law of the late Donald & Lillian Schwan (nee Antler). Admired Brother-in-law of Derek Schwan (Sheri Proulx). Uncle of Taylor Proulx. Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kevin will be missed by man’s-best-friend & Tim Horton’s companion Bentley. He will be deeply missed by sidekick Glenn Casey. Kevin’s admirable time & effort will be forever honoured and dearly remembered by the Pembroke Minor Hockey Association and Silver Stick. He made a difference in the lives of young people who loved to play the game. His love for the outdoors was evident through his 25+ year career working with the Algonquin Forestry Authority, spending many hours cutting wood at his wood pile and fishing.
Respecting Kevin’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A brief graveside service and interment of ashes will be held at Zion/St. Timothy’s Lutheran Cemetery, Boundary Rd., Pembroke on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Kevin’s life and countless hours at various arenas will be celebrated at the Pembroke & Area Community Center (Pem Ice 2) on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital, Ottawa Heart Institute or Pembroke Minor Hockey Association would be appreciated.
