Obituary Overview
Forever In Our Hearts
On Thursday, December 28, 2017, Kerri Anne Jones passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 62 years following complications from neurosurgery.
Kerri is predeceased by her mother and father, Gabrielle and Deryck Jones.
She is survived by her older brother, Stephen (Michelle Jones) of Lloydminster Alberta; twin brother David Kim, of Regina; younger brother Robert (Sharon Martin), of Emerald Park; and nieces and nephews Jennifer, Emily, Elizabeth, Isaac and Johan.
Kerri was born in Regina on April 14, 1955. She went to Argyle and McLeod Public Schools, and then attended High School at Miller Comprehensive.
Kerri worked in the food industry at the University of Regina for a period of time, and then as a Recycling Technician at SARCAN.
From July 2000 until November 2007, she was the caregiver for her mother, Gabrielle Jones, who had suffered a debilitating stroke in the summer of 2000.
At first glance, Kerri appeared to be a shy and quiet person. However, once you got to know her, you realized she was a thoughtful, warm and caring woman with a positive outlook on life. She had a wonderful sense of humour and always had time to hear a good joke. She also possessed an incredible memory for numbers and dates.
Throughout her life, Kerri was an avid Rider fan, and enjoyed going to the football games with her parents. She was often seen proudly displaying the green and white, and never took her Rider cap off, except when she slept.
Music was Kerri’s passion. She loved to play the clarinet. She was a member of the Regina Lions Junior Band during her youth, and then continued on in the Regina Lions’ Adult Band and then the Prairie Winds Adult Community Band. Kerri also faithfully attended the concerts of these bands, even when she retired from playing in them.
Kerri also loved to fish, and often spoke fondly of the fishing trips she took to northern Saskatchewan with her parents. She always had good luck when it came to catching fish.
Kerri also enjoyed going to the casino with her closest friend, Jane Pinch. She also cherished her summer vacations at Jane’s cottage every year since Kerri’s mother passed away.
Kerri’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the ICU, Neurology and Internal Medicine Departments of the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon and the Regina General Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regina Humane Society, the Royal University and General Hospitals, or the Mossing School of Music.
A CELEBRATION OF KERRI’S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.
Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
