PATTERSON – Kenneth Robert Joseph of Espanola passed away at home on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Born on October 13, 1948 to Clair and Edna (nee Maue) Patterson. He was married to Elizabeth (nee Charette) for 45 years. He leaves his three sons and their families, Aaron (wife Catherine) and children, Connor, Christian, Mattea, Tomas, Emmett, Magnus and Elias of Regina, Shayne (wife Tina) and children, Clara, Kreia and Jazlynn of Rutherglen and Blair (wife Sherry) and family, Lochlan and Scotia of Sudbury. He also leaves his twin brother Keith (Rebecca), brother Ron (Laurel) and sister Cathy. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and the in-laws, Mary Charette, Mike (Brenda), Gerard (Claudette), Maurice, Rene, Raymond, Joe (Elly), Anne (Stephen) and his church family. Ken worked at the mill for 39 years until his retirement in 2006. In the past Ken coached baseball, hockey and was a scout master. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dreaming of the “big” one. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, nieces and nephews. He loved his time at the trailer and fishing on the “South” shore of Lake Manitou. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. They kept the twinkle in his eyes. He is gone but not forgotten. Ken was a member of the Espanola Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be held at the Bourcier Funeral Home, Espanola on Tuesday, January 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass from St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Espanola on Wednesday, January 10th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Raymond Akor officiating. Interment in the Espanola Cemetery. If so desired, Memorial tributes may be made to St. Jude Memorial Fund or the Northern Cancer Foundation.
