Obituary for Kenneth Lester Austin
Peacefully at the Lakeridge Health Care Centre in Oshawa on Thursday, January 18, 2018.
Kenneth Lester Austin in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Anne Ruth Austin (nee Adams) who predeceased Ken on January 1, 2010.
Much loved father to Lynne Austin of Whitby. Cherished grandfather to Lauren (Dave) Jones of Whitby, Kaela McDowell of Toronto and Craig McDowell of Whitby. Beloved great grandfather to Avery and Lachlyn Jones and Baby #3. Ken was the beloved brother to Eleanor (Hubert) Lambert of Bermuda, Audrey Austin (late Brian Fletcher) of Elliot Lake, Ray (Carol) Austin of Newmarket and Linda (John) Monkman of Barrie. Ken was predeceased by his sister Muriel Lewis and survived by his brother-in-law
Eric Lewis of Sutton. Loved uncle to many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Mr. Austin’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation and service on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst from 12 noon until the time of service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
