Kenneth ‘Ken » Snow
Kenneth Francis Snow- age 61 of Gaetz Brook. Born November 30, 1956 in Halifax, he was the son of the late Earnest and Rita (Turner) Snow. Ken passed away April 10, 2018 in Twin Oaks Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour in the company of his beloved wife, Darlene Rose Snow, family, and close friends.
As owner of Downeast Starter and Alternator Services for 24 years, he was relied on for quality diagnostics and thorough repairs, many wonderful friendships resulted across Nova Scotia.
An enthusiastic sportsman, he played baseball, hockey, and loved boating. A passionate Toronto Maple Leafs fan, he spent many evenings in the neighbourhood gazebo rooting for his team.
He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #161. Ken enjoyed singing at Friday karaoke, and loved to dance, especially with the love of his life, Darlene.
Whether working, playing, or shooting the breeze, Ken was a wonderful friend, valued companion, and unofficial counsellor. He took tremendous pride in the beauty of his yard.
He is survived by wife, Darlene; sisters, Shirley Dewolfe (Miles Thompson), Sheila Snow, Mary Barkhouse (Oliver), Nancy Schnare, Sandra McNeil; brothers, Earnest Snow (Nancy), Jim; children, Christine, Barrett, Jason; step-children, Kristin, Jennie, (Joe “His little devil”), « adopted daughter » Gillian, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by sister, Patricia Snow; brother, Gerald and mother-in-law Doris Marr.
The care, comfort and many skills of Dr. Karl Tennessen, the nurses and general staff of Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, and folks and friends from the Legion and the community supported him and Darlene throughout his illness.
