Obituary of Kathleen « Kay » Dolsen
Kathleen “Kay” G. Dolsen (nee Davis), 99 of Berwick formerly of Auburn passed away on Monday September 17, 2018 in Grand View Manor. Born in 1918 in Glenside, SK, she was the daughter of the late Frank Bentley and Mabel Ann (Chappell) Davis. She was the last of two brothers and four sister.
Kay was a school teacher, devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Kay was a member of the Aylesford United Church, life member of the U.C.W, loved playing the piano, made beautiful quilts and community spirited. But Kay’s love of her family was her priority.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 75 years, Erle; sons Craig (Libby) Dolsen; Dana (Linda) Dolsen; daughters Barbara Riley; Kerry (Bishop) Mapplebeck; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by siblings Edna O’Byrne; Evelyn Johnson; Roland Davis; Gladys Hart; Harold Davis and Marie Jones; brothers-in-law Ken O’Byrne, Eilert Johnson, Cliff Hart and Lloyd Jones.
The family wish to give thanks to Serenity Funeral Home, Coldbrook and a special thank you to the Grand View Manor staff for their care and devotion to Kay.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Aylesford United Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aylesford United Church or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
