Kathleen « Kay » M. Currie
1921-2018
Currie, Kathleen (Kay) M.
April 16th, 1921
– January 6th, 2018.
Kay said goodbye to us at Windsor Court on a cold Saturday
morning. Daughter of Agnes Maude and Bertram Edwin Waite; sister of
Joan Woodcock and brother (Jack) B.G. Waite; and loving wife of Ian R.
Currie, all of whom have predeceased her.
Kay was born in Grand-Mère, Quebec; trained and
worked as an X-Ray technician before marrying Ian. They lived in Port
Radium, Boston, Oshawa and finally here in Fredericton. Kay was an
avid curler and golfer but most of all a volunteer with the Hospital
Auxiliary and the Cathedral, making life long friends in all these
areas.
Kay wanted to thank her resident friends at Windsor Court for
making her time there so pleasant with particular consideration for
her meal companions and 4th floor neighbors. A very big
« thank you » to the staff who have taken such very
good care of her.
Kay loved life, enjoyed it and lived it but wants to
recognize the health care member who made her last years possible; her
family practice expert, Dr Carman Stewart a wise and kindly soul who
was always there for Kay. Thank you.
As per Kay’s request there will be no visitation
and no funeral. Cremation will take place with a private burial at a
later date at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
For any one interested in acknowledging Kay, she suggested
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation, CARMA Fredericton or a
charity of your choice.
Thank you Kay for being with us. You’re in
God’s good hands now. McAdam’s Funeral Home has been
entrusted with the arrangements.
