OBITUARY
Kathe Tydik
31 March , 1934 – 25 May , 2018
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Kathe Tydik on Friday, May 25, 2018.
Kathe was predeceased by her husband John, mother Maragrete, sister Hedy, brothers Ernst and Hansi, and niece Maria. She is survived by her sister Hannelore, nephews Norbert (Christa), Guenther, Wolfgang, Stefan, Marek (Nancy), Peter, Marian and nieces Katarina (Randy), Stefanka, Magda, and Maria.
Kathe was born on March 31, 1934 in Nurnberg, Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1953 with her husband. Kathe worked very hard all her life and took pride in all that she did. She enjoyed watching sports and classic movies, and driving their motorhome across Canada and the United States. She deeply enjoyed visits to the country of her birth, Germany. Kathe had a fun-loving and adventurous spirit. She was a terrific homemaker and was very independent and resourceful until her final days.
Kathe spent the last six months of her life at Jocelyn House Hospice. She loved her dinner outings for burgers and root beer and trips to the casino with nephew Marek, the day trips to nephew and Godson Stefan’s farm, and playing board games with her sister Hannelore. At Jocelyn House, Kathe made many new friends and came to be known for her playful sense of humour. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Jocelyn House for allowing Kathe to live life to the fullest for the past six months.
According to Kathe’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a reception in her memory at 6 Merrill Crescent, on Sunday, June 10 from 2 – 4 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathe’s name to Joceyln House Hospice, 177 Eggerton Rd., Winnipeg, website: www.jocelynhouse.ca
