Obituary of Justina Thompson
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at Grey Bruce Health Services, on Friday, August 10th, 2018. Justina Catherine Thompson (nee Cahoon), of Owen Sound, at the age of 97 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Elgin Thompson (1982). Loving mother of Ray Thompson, Catherine Thompson, Diana Morris and daughter-in-law Linda Thompson, all of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of Rick Thompson & his friend Gina, Amanda Northey, Steve Thompson and his friend Olivia, Justin Thompson & his friend Jess and great grandmother of Jacob Thompson. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Cahoon; her son, Mel Thompson and her siblings, Joseph Cahoon (Mary), Mary Hood (Vince), Marguerite Hobday and Howard Cahoon (Marge).
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial for Justina Thompson will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 554 – 15th Street East, Owen Sound on Wednesday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Owen Sound. Parish prayers will be held Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the El Sistema Children’s Music Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Owen Sound or the charity of your choice as an expression of sympathy.
