Gone But Not Forgotten
Justin William Hilker Jr. “Wild Bill”, beloved husband of the late Marion Molly Hilker and beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2018 in Calgary, AB at the age of 80 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Walter William “Billy” (Amanda) Hilker; his four grandchildren: James (Elspeth) Jervis, Kaylie-Rae Hilker (Thomas), Beth Hilker, and Thomas Hilker, and his sister, Shirley Kubik. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Marion Hilker (2004); and his son, Robert “Bob” Hilker (2015).
“Wild Bill” was born in Stettler, AB to Justin Hilker Sr. and Helen Hilker. He passed time in his younger years as an outrider for his brother, Alvin Hilker’s chuckwagon team and competed in rodeos across the US and Canada including the Calgary Stampede in the early 1950’s. Bill enjoyed a long career as a truck driver. He loved his horses and his family. Bill had a great sense of humour and was always comfortable telling a story or a joke to make others feel at ease.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing starting prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
