(Junior) Edwin Joseph Hardy

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late (Junior) Edwin Joseph Hardy announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Born in North Sydney, NS, Junior was the son of the late Edwin and Theresa Hardy (nee Munden). He was also predeceased by his wife Jean Hardy (nee Porter) in 2001, daughter Heather Hardy, sister Eva (Donald) Anderson, brothers James Hardy and Wilfred Hardy, and brother-in-law Fred (Alfreda) Porter.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving common-law partner Annie Hilliard; children Fred (Anne) Hardy of Roseneath, ON, Andrea (Calvin) Feaver of Cape Ray, NL, Jeananne (Melvin) Ryan of O’Regan’s, NL, Patricia (Greg) Payne of Irishtown, NL; grandchildren Christopher (Andreea) Hardy, David (Kristen) Hardy, Kelly Feaver (Graham Osmond), Dustin Feaver, Emma Ryan, Abby Ryan, Lily Ryan, Julie Ryan, Hillary Kinslow, Sarah Kinslow, Jacob Payne, Beth Payne; eight (8) great-grandchildren; brothers Austin (Judy) Hardy, Melvin (Sheila) Hardy, all of Rose Blanche, NL; sisters Donna (Gary) Domine of Rose Blanche, NL, Amelia (Jim) Young of Burgeo, NL, Daphne Rose (Gerry) Berk of North Sydney, NS; sisters-in-law Lorraine (Brone) Mifflin of St. John’s, NL, Lorraine Hardy of Rose Blanche, NL. His common law family: children George Hilliard of Cape Anguille, NL, Fred Hilliard (Carla Dicesare) of Stephenville, NL, Marilyn (Larry) Colbourne of Codroy, NL, Bob Hilliard of Cambridge, ON, Scott (Trina) Hilliard of Cape Anguille, NL, Jason (Trudy) Hilliard of St. David’s, NL, Michelle Hilliard (Roland Deveau) of Mavillette, NS; grandchildren Raymond Hilliard (Krista Brake), Roddy Hilliard (Jessika LeBlanc), Mallory Samms, Adam (Marilyn) Sarzen, Angela (Ryan) Donaldson, Joey Tilli (Dana Young), Stephen Courtney (Stacy Sararas), Brandi Hilliard (Donald Samms), Nathan Hilliard (Megan Uchtenhagen), Clarisse (Colin) Maillet, Alex Deveau (Galisa Devine); seven (7) great grandchildren, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11th, 2018 from 7-9 pm and on Monday, November 12th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. The funeral service will be held at the St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Margaree, NL on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 at 11 am officiated by Deacon John Billard with interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Junior’s memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
