Obituary of Joy Patyk
PATYK – Lillian Iola “Joy” (nee Flewelling)
Peacefully at her home on Monday July 23, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Loving wife of Walter for 65 years. Much loved mother of Stephen (Bettina) of Lakeside, Montana and Lori (Greg Uhrynuk) of Toronto. Very proud grandma of Erik, Briana, Adam and Gillian. Joy is also survived by her sister Leslie Uttley (the late Lynne). She is predeceased by her parents Leslie and Mary Flewelling and by her sisters Wilma Rymar and Marianne Urban. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Walter and Joy lived in Brantford until 1987and moved to live their retirement dream in Sauble Beach for 32 years. Joy was a very passionate and committed educator and was proud to be the first female Principal within Brant County and founded the first “Enrichment” Education Program. Joy is Past President of the RWTO, (Retired Women Teachers of Ontario). Joy was an avid gardener and loved birds and classical music. Both Joy and Walter were active within the Sauble Beach United Church community. Friends may pay their respects at the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road N. Brantford on Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 6-9 pm. Visitation will continue at SAUBLE BEACH UNITED CHURCH, 889 Main Street N. Sauble Beach on Wednesday August 1, 2018 from 1-2 pm. Followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. Interment to follow, Zion Cemetery, Sauble Beach. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joy’s memory to Sauble Beach United Church.-Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.mccleisterfuneralhome.ca
