It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we grieve the unexpected passing of Joyce at Noric House in Vernon, BC on January 1st, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Dave and siblings Ruth, Helen, Marie and Ken. She is survived by her sister Connie Hamilton, son Garry (Leslie) Pruden, grandchildren Danielle and Jennifer, great-grandchildren Steven, Aaron, Marlie and Kash and nieces and nephews Bonnie, Mickey, Kip, Morrey, Keith, Lynn, Marie, Lee and Anna-Marie. Joyce was born in Prince Albert, SK and moved with her family to Vancouver in 1950 where she resided until moving to Vernon in 2010. She was a licensed hairdresser, worked in a fish cannery and was the main hostess at the Vancouver Men’s Club. She enjoyed making floral arrangements, homemade pie, giving to the less fortunate, shopping, cats and dogs. She has left us all with so many funny and loving memories. In respecting Joyce’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral held. A special ceremony will be held in Vancouver in May. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon SPCA (4800 Haney Rd, Vernon, BC V1H 1P6). A special thank you to Dr. Pienaar and the wonderful staff at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Monashee Mews and Noric House for the great care they provided to Joyce.
