Joyce M. LeBlanc
1939-2018
It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Joyce Marie
LeBlanc, age 79, of River Hebert, NS. Joyce
passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday,
December 18, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre.
Born November 12, 1939 in River Hebert,
NS, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Mary (White)
Edwards.
After raising her three children, Joyce
entered the workforce where she worked at Oxford Frozen Foods until
she retired. She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother and great grandmother. Joyce enjoyed cooking, spending
time with her family, going for drives, looking for wildlife and going
to bingo.
Joyce is survived by her husband Wilfred
« Fred », River Hebert, NS; daughters: Brenda (Dale) Porter,
River Hebert East, NS, Charlene (James) Brown, Amherst, NS; son Rodney
(Karen VanSnick), Stevens, Shediac, NB; grandchildren Jeremy
Stevens (Patsy Lively), Zoe and Jenna Porter, and her great
grandchildren Violet, Ashlynn, Ryland, and Colton; sister Eleanor
Nelson (Bill St. Peters); brothers Leo (Eleanor) Edwards, Gary
(Darlene) Edwards; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased
by her first husband Ralph Stevens and brothers: Joseph, Reginald,
Douglas, Donald, Harvey, Lewis, and Garnet.
The family wishes to extend a special
thank you to the Palliative Care and Surgical units at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre for their compassion and
care.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home,
70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777). As per Joyce’s wishes,
cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Joyce at her
Funeral Liturgy from St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River
Hebert on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:30 am, Deacon Howard
Gotell officiating. Reception to follow at the Royal
Canadian Legion, Branch 14, River Hebert. Burial to take
place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Joyce may be made
to the Canadian Cancer Society, the River Hebert Legion Ladies
Auxiliary, the River Hebert Fire Department, or the charity of your
choice.
