Joyce
Our matriarch passed away on Saturday August 4, 2018, at the Carleton Place D.M.H.; surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born in Windsor, Ontario and spent most of her 82 years in Huttonville and Brampton, Ontario. Her husband Harvey, of 46 years, passed away in 1997. Joyce and Harvey had 5 children, Elsie, Carolyn, Wanda (Doug), Clifford (Lois) and Lloyd (Sally). She was grandmother to Aileen (Keith), Kirk (Michelle), Michael, Cara (Anthony), Chris (Theresa), Joey (Miranda), Christine (Nick), and Stephanie. She was also great grandma to Andonis (Lesley-Anne), Amund (Steph),Yvonne, Kyle (Monica), Paige, Cody, Skylar, Chelsea, Eric, Aron, Rachael, Tara, Emily, Michael, Dayton, North (predeceased), Daffnee and Rawling. Joyce is the first of her siblings to pass, leaving behind Colleen, Keith(Barb) and Anita; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Joyce had a smile and hello for everyone she met. She always enjoyed life to the fullest, as a free spirit who followed her own rules. Her greatest loves were family and gardens; and the senior centre where she enjoyed Bingo and shuffleboard. Her final 5 months were spent on the “farm”, where she had Blackie, “baaad” at goats, fed chickens and had a garden once more.
We wish to thank Liz Cunningham, the many PSWs including Kathryn Larabie for their support. Also Dr. Jamieson and the staff at Carleton Place DMH for their loving care in early July and her final days with us. Viewing will be held at Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery (10061 Chinguacousy Road, Brampton) on Sunday the 12th between 1-5pm.The funeral will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Monday August 13, 2018 at 1pm. Any donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke, Alzheimers or Parkinsons societies on her behalf.
