Wilson (Forbes), L. Joyce – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joyce Wilson, 93, of Denmark, N.S. on September 4, 2018, in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in New Annan, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Marjorie (Morris) Porteous of New Annan. Joyce moved to Boston to complete her formal education returning to Canada where she worked in Kingston, Ontario and later at the bank in Tatamagouche. An avid gardener, Joyce took great pride in her gardens and spending time with her family. With a family of seven children, it was not unusual to find their friends and neighbourhood children at the family table. Joyce had a strong faith and was an active member of Trinity Anglican Church in Middleton Corner. Joyce is survived by her children, Larry (Judy) Forbes, Lakeview; Reg (Jeanne) Forbes, Denmark; Ann (Ormand) MacCuspie, Brule; Gail Coe, Valley; Greg (Peachy) Forbes, Denmark; Sherry Forbes, Fall River; and Stevan (Brenda) Forbes, New Annan; grandchildren, Troy Forbes (Charles Patterson), Dartmouth; Trevor Forbes (Christine Darrah), Halifax; Christopher (Denise) Forbes, St. John’s NL; Joel (Olla) Forbes, Bermuda; Jillian MacCuspie (Mark Williams), Halifax; Tim (Meaghan) Coe, Valley; Jay Coe (Eunesa), Fort MacMurray; Ricky Forbes, Truro; Angelique Forbes, Saulte St. Marie; John Korecki, Halifax; Jordan Korecki, Bedford; Hannah Korecki, Fall River; Dyson Forbes, Tatamagouche; Kenzie Forbes, Edmonton; Kailley Forbes, Tatamagouche; eight great grandchildren. Joyce was predeceased by her first husband, John Murray Forbes formerly of Denmark; her second husband, Samuel Wilson, formerly of Denmark; sisters, Ethel Porteous-Wilson and Vi Swan; brothers, Bill, Roland and Harry; son-in-law, David Coe, formerly of Valley. The family extends our sincere gratitude to all the staff at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche who have provided exemplary care for Joyce during the past three months. Visitation will be held 6 – 9 p.m. Monday, September 10 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 11 in Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton Corner. Interment will be in the Church cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Anglican Church or Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital.
