It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joyce Ivison at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Friday, December 14. Born in Welland, Ontario on December 4, 1938 to Russell and Marjorie McGuirk. Beloved wife for 54 years of David Ivison and loving mother of Douglas Ivison (Batia Stolar) and John Ivison (Sarah Johnson). Proud grandmother of Simone, Sigourney, and Rafael. Lifelong learner and teacher. BA (McMaster), MEd (U of Ottawa). Our sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Heart Institute. A Memorial Service in Joyce’s memory will be held at First Baptist Church, 140 Laurier Ave W, Ottawa on Saturday, December 22 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, may be made to First Baptist Church, the Centretown Emergency Food Centre, or another charity of your choice. Interment to be held in the Spring at Clarence Cemetery.
