Rider, Joseph:
Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31st, 2018 at Guelph General Hospital at the age of 81. Loving Father to Margaret Horne, Joe Rider Jr. (Tracey), Mary Lou Miszuk, John Rider, Michele Fletcher (Neil). Cherished grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Jim Rider (Josephine) of Ariss ON and Margaret Groselle (Frank) of Hollywood FL. Joe is survived by his former spouse Marilyn Rider. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents William & Agnes Rider as well as his Sister and Brother in Law – Mildred & Dr. Stanley Iwan and Son in-law Stanley Miszuk.
Joe was a successful business man and owner of Town and Country Fencing in Guelph for 35 years as well as a member of the Maryhill Knights of Columbus.
Joseph’s family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Friday, January 4th, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Boniface R.C. Church on Saturday, January 5th, 2019 at 10:00 am. Reception to follow at Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club (5700 Wellington Highway 86 Ariss, ON N0B 1B0). Private Cremation will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
