Joseph Edouard Gerald Cormier
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eddie Cormier age 85 on July 18, 2018.
Eddie is survived by his soul mate Shirley of 52 years, his sons Steven and Terry (Rani) and grandson Aaron, his daughters, Sylvia from Colorado Springs and 6 grandchildren and Barbara from Virginia and 3 grandchildren. Eddie is also survived by brothers Willie, Henry (Jane), Tommy, Charlie (Ruth) all from Moncton, sisters, Ruth (from Moncton), Eileen (from Toronto), sister-in-law Rita Cormier of Worcester, Mass, sister-in-law Donnie (Jack) of Winnipeg and sister-in-law Glenice (Bill) of Marysville, Washington as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and good friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Hector and Margaret (Arsenault) Cormier, son Tommy, brothers Robert and Francis, sisters, Levina, Rita, Ida, and Margaret.
Eddie was born April 14, 1933 in Adamsville New Brunswick. He was in the military for 9 years and then went to work for CP Rail for 31 years as a blacksmith. Eddie retired in 1995 enjoying fishing, bowling, gardening and playing cards with friends and family. He was a huge fan of the Montreal Canadians; he especially loved to play bingo, spending time with his grandson Aaron and meeting his grandson Michael for the first time.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB.
The family wishes to thank each and every one who took special care of Eddie during his 8 year battle with cancer.
