Jan. 1st, 1921 – Sept.18, 2018
Joe was the second youngest of seven children born to Dora and Nathaniel Brodoway near Brooksby, Saskatchewan. He is survived by daughters Sandra Clayton (Murray) of Enderby and Susan Duncalfe (Randy) of Olds Alberta, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by his wife Doreen of fifty nine years, his son David, his sisters Mary Kozoris, Betty Brent and Anne Nelson as well as his brothers Pete, Steve and Jim.
Joe served in the Army in England from 1942 to 1945, where he met and married Doreen. The two settled in Grindrod upon return to Canada. He logged in the region besides running a small farm which kept him busy clearing the land, falling trees and caring for cows, chickens and pigs. After selling the farm in Springbend they moved “to town”, (Enderby) where he enjoyed “city life”, until his move to Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong.
His contributions to the country and community were appreciated by all who knew him. He was a proud member of the Enderby Legion Branch 98, for 72 years.
The Family would like to take this opportunity to say thank you; to the staff and volunteers at the Enderby Legion, the caregivers from Interior Health, neighbours and friends. A special thanks to Louise and Barry Fawcett and Val and Dave Knutson.
We grieve in his passing but rest assured our souls will be reunited.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Joseph Brodoway September 18th 2018..
