VOLPATO, JOHN CHRISTIE
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of John on August 15, 2018 at the age of 88. Husband of Joyce (nee Daniels), father of Debbie (Dan) Connon, Dan (Judy) Volpato, Bob (Nancy) Volpato of Dunnville, Rick (Ginette) Volpato of Winnipeg and Kathy (John) Golias. Dear grandfather to Michelle, Jennifer, Stephen, Justin, Matthew, Sherisse, Rob and Anthony. Great-grandfather to Owen, Olivia, Nolan and Cambrie and two great grandchildren to be. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister, Stella Sofia and brother, Leo Volpato. Predeceased by sister Albina Luhmann. A special thank you to his son Bob, with whom he resided with for over 20 years. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the entire staff of the Clarion nursing home for their outstanding care and compassion.
John was a long-time retiree of Burlington Steel. He will be missed by his best buddies of the Cellar Dwellers social club with whom he spent may great years of friendship. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday, August 24 at Stoney Creek United Church in Stoney Creek. Family will receive guests from 4:00-7:00 pm. If desired memorial donations in John’s name to the Lung Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
